They had supposedly gotten back together to secretly look in to this stupid case and she still couldn't talk to him about the case....nonsense. Ive only seen the small amount of eps/scenes I want to see of Season 8 about five times since 2016. I think/thought this scene was the final one of Witness for the Prosecution, ie ep 10-12. Loksat 2IC Caleb Brown was the defence lawyer? He's the one who shot Kate and Rick in Crossfire, before the jump 7 years to future. I totally agree that it the case re Rick being a witness, plus the whole Loksat mess and that Kate still couldnt talk to Rick was nonsense.

Syd, you have managed to watch S8 eps about 5 times?? Wow, you have my respect as indeed does anyone else who has managed to do so. I just about managed to get through it once! Although I don't mind watching those ending seconds that we were never meant to see. That future scene allowed me to watch favorite episodes/scenes of earlier seasons usually with a smile because they were that good!
B :-)

I wont watch ep 1 to 8 or 9. I watch from 8 or 9 to about halfway. I dont watch many eps from around 18-24. So basically Ive seen roughly less than half, but Ive seen those half around 5 times. Ive seen Crossfire around 5 times, as my fave parts are the last 30-45 secs of the kids. Ive seen the 1st year Anniversary because that what it is. Ive seen Tone Death because of the acapella singing. I cant bear to watch the beginning of s8. Way too hard, heartbreaking and depressing. eps 3- 7 are ridiculous. For me, the 7 year time jump made Season 8 sort of better. The 7 year time jump is also what was sort of promised/hinted at from Season 2 re Maddie., plus infamously the Baby/Cosmo ep. Also for me, the ep where Kate returns to the Academy is a must ep.

Also for me, the ep where Kate returns to the Academy is a must ep. Quoting myself for a 2nd time; I decided to recheck the s8 eps Ive seen 5 times; The number is actually less than I originally throught; The eps Ive seen are; ep 7. The Last Seduction; ep 8. Mr & Mrs Castle; ep 9 Tone Death; ep 10. Witness for the Prosecution (debut of Caleb Brown ie Loksat 2IC who shot kate and Rick before Kate fatally shot him in Crossfire); ep 15. Fidelis Ad Mortem and ep 22 Crossfire. So Ive seen less than half the eps of s8. Ive only seen 6 eps. When I have seen either ep 7 or 8, I fast forward the Caskett fight scene.

RISE
Rick visits Kate in hospital after he has learnt she's woken up in Recovery after open heart surgery. He arrives with flowers, and sees heart surgeon, Dr Josh is with Kate, as he is her boyfriend.
After Dr Josh leaves, and Rick is more comfortable, he and Kate attempt to have chit chat. Rick decides to leave and says he will back tomorrow.
Kate 'Do you mind if you dont? I'll give you a call'
Sadly she dosnt, and its also what sets up Season 4 re the rest of the first ep, after her eventual return to work. There were two elephants in the room; Kate not calling Rick to advise she was ready to see him again, and that she did hear Rick tell her he loved her after she was shot and before she lost consciousness.
Its these two major things that also caused the final catastrophic fight in Always.

IVE ALWAYS BEEN IN TWO MINDS RE THIS IE IS IT LINE OR SCENE?, OR IS IT MEANT TO BE TRYING TO/SUPPOSED TO BE ENCOURAGING CASKETT FANS? KATE TALKING ABOUT ORIGINALLY DR JOSH, BUT IT WAS OBVIOUS SHE ALSO MEANT IT RE RICK, AS IN HER BEING FRUSTRATED THAT HE HADNT VOICED HIS FEELINGS FOR HER:-
SET UP S3 EP 16 ORIGINALLY BROADCAST 21ST FEBRUARY, 2011 IE; 9 YEARS AGO!!
IN FREEZER TENT RE EXPOSURE TO URANIUM DIRTY BOMB, CASKETT ARE THERE WAITING TESTS FOR CONTAMINATION.
Kate to Rick (initially re Dr Josh, but then obviously also including Rick);-
Kate 'Why is it that the thing that attracts you to a person always ends up being the thing that just drives you crazy?? I just wish that I had someone who would be there for me, and I could be there for him, and we could just dive into it together'. Rick just looks at her with a strange expression. This is obviously a precurser for their first major fight.
Seconds later, Kate and Rick were allowed out as the contamination was minimal.

Kate s talking to/confiding in Lanie. ^^^ Think the ep is s4 infamous The Limey. (Aussie actor Brett Tucker guested As The Limey ie Scotland Yard Detective, Colin Hunt). Charles Shaunessey also guested, who Kate danced with at gala.
