I will have to rewatch the eps concerned again. All I saw and took in was a young blonde woman was hitting Nick. I thought it was Alice. The scenes are evolving too fast. I write things down as I see them, which helps me to remember as I rewatch the eps.
Totally agree that Nick shouldn't have held the press conference as he was the father and husband ie personally involved. The 2IC should have done the press thing, while Nick stood either next to him or behind him Also agree that Nick should have been removed from the case., and that there should have been a protection detail on Flynn and Alice. Also agree that Nick was incompetent and impulsive -- plus he should have believed Emily, or at least tried to help her, not automatically believe she was guilty, and let her know he was there for her -- which he totally wasn't.
Don't forget it was also Alice's sisters place where they were taken from as she had left their family home with Flynn. The action was so fast, I didn't take notice. I will rewatch the eps again. To me, it was 'just a house'. I thought it was the Durand family home.

I haven't seen the ep again but, I have been to imdb......and according to it, actress called Samantha Coughlan plays a Maura Moran. To me she is Very Much Alike in Features to Cara Theobold. So until I re watch ep 8 again, Im taking it that she is the sister. I also think that they could be twins they are so similar, which explains why I thought I was looking at Alice.
Also, Sasha Waddell played Harlow's ex girlfriend., plus Amber Aga is the FBi female agent, Ericksson. Actress is South African.
Also......Executive Producer Julie Glucksman....played character called Carly Allen, in the show, so the imdb page states.

Further to the above, I just did the imdb search for Julie Glucksman. She was in ep Childs Play.
I have now rewatched Brave Boy. Im wondering if Samantha Coughlan was cast deliberately because of her likeness to Cara Theobold, also to possibly confuse people because, she was only in one or two scenes in the ep/show, and had two lines to say only.
Also, in the house that had been trashed, it was the Durand house, because when you look at the feature wall with pics on it, Emilys (Stana), pic is the top pic. This same view featured in the scene when Emily first re-met Flynn the first time. I remembered seeing family pics adorning the wall, and Emilys was on top.

Further to above, Patrick Heusinger mumbles a bit. Also, isn't the law that missing people have to be missing for 7 years before being declared/presumed dead??? There was no body of Emily, and now a thought is, when and where did Nick meet Alice? Was she a babysitter or a nanny? Or did he meet her at a club? Moot point in a way, but its not.
I definitely didn't like Nick. He first said in ep 1 or 2 that he was there for her, but when it came down to it, he wasn't. He believed her guilty. brother Jack was way more helpful, as was father Warren, that Nick was.
Also great casting of Neil Jackson of brother Jack. Looking at the scene where Jack visits dad Warren in his nursing home room, check out the eyebrows of both. Very similar.

^^^ Getting someone declared dead without a body varies from state to state in the US. There can be extenuating circumstances for individual cases. Here her murderer was tried and convicted.
