Castlefan - like I said, my "Go To" person for all things Rookie. for that post. (There is however a still with the two of them with Nathan in uniform as Nolan.) Ok, I'm no good with my mobile, but that person could have done a better job of showing Nathan. You do get an idea of just how much weight he has lost though. There haven't been any rumors of an illness has there? Syd - Yes, saw that still - thanks. However, like I said, there is an even better one of Nathan in uniform that shows his weight loss but that post from Castlefan gives a really good idea of just how thin he looks. B :-)

Exactly. When she says that when s2 was announced and the meeting happened, ad she mentions hawley and two producers and her agent, I took two producers to mean fillion and chapman, which they are. There are a few EP's yes, but fillion is the lead male star, and chapman is his manager/? . It definately smacks of cover-up. ie hawley dosnt want the show in more trouble, so he didnt say a word.

The cover up and spin begins! Did anyone else pick up how this person just had to tell us how 'respectful' Hawley is to work with?

Thank you for posting. Cheers Just a minute after I posted the above link, I completely forgot I was getting internet interruptions in my area. So thats probably why it didnt work for me. I just tried the link myself, and its ok. Many thanks for your post, its much appreciated. You are most welcome for the posted article. As soon as I read/scanned the article, I knew I had to post it.

Castlefan - apologies for not saying Thank You sooner for posting the picture on August 21st. Especially the way that some fans think of the people on this board when it comes to Nathan. That was the the picture I was referring to where you can see how much weight Nathan seems to have lost. For those of you who do the d-i-e-t thing or simply healthy living, does it look as if he has lost too much weight too soon so that he looks ill (at least to me)? Also any thoughts on the findings with regards to Afton Williamson? I still hold as to why would she jeopardize her career by naming names? She could now be seen as 'that actress' who may cause trouble by alleging sexual harrassment or racial abuse. Why did she not simply walk away with 'creative differences' as her reason for leaving the show?

Why did she not simply walk away with 'creative differences' as her reason for leaving the show? Regarding the Afton thing, I think when the situation reaches studio and network level, they will try to protect themselves. Which is what happened here. There’s a lot of money at stake. Regarding why Afton did not walk away by stating “creative differences”, well she wanted to speak her truth. And as a woman of colour and knowing that NF has a lot of haters from the castle fandom, will ensure that she gets maximum support. Which is what happened here. As far as public support is concerned, 99.99% people support her. I do believe Afton though. Something obviously happened. But am not surprised that the studio and the network covered it up.

Castlefan - Thank You for your prompt reply. Wish I could have been as quick.
Appreciate your thoughts on Afton. All around just a very sorry state of affairs. And I hope that it doesn't impact on her career as from what I read, she appears to have played quite a popular character on The Rookie and fans were looking forward to learning more about her.
B :-)

Castlefan, or anyone that watched S1, will you be tuning in on Sunday when I believe it returns? Apparently lots happen so the loss of Bishop? doesn't have time to sink in.
I hope someone will give a review of how it may differ from S1. Also if Nolan is still 'front and center' or becoming just one of the rookies.

She was a major character and particularly important to Nolan. The premiere is continuation of the finale. I think her loss will be felt in the subsequent episodes when they go back to procedural mold. I think Nolan is still front and center as of now.

I am pretty much over the whole Castle thing, so my comments are not based on the interaction of the romantic characters of that show ( which was pretty good, by the way). To see Nathan cast in a love triangle is hard to follow. The chemistry just with this actress in the promo was boring at best (like he is kissing his sister, YUCK!!!) Will look at one episode but I think I am done with it.

I was wondering if it would happen; and I was wondering how long it would take to happen; well it has finally happened; someone has written a letter to our TVWeek re the rookie . .. .
....'After watching the start of The Rookie, I must say that Nathan Fillion does a marvellous job as John Nolan. Its interesting to see into the personal side of the police force. It reminds us that they are human too, and must handle personal committments while dedicating themselves to the job. There's plenty of action in this new drama, and if Nathan is doing his own stunts, he is doing a very good job' . . . . .
TV Week: 'In this procedural, John tries to fit in with young cops, be an effective police officer, and still be a parent'. . . . .
The writer of the letter is obviously a fillion fan.

This sort of alumni casting generally only happens as the show is in its final season in a desperate attempt to get ratings up for one more season.

Viewers who like the show will probably like to see Alan . Seems to me that the people who criticize this casting are people who don’t watch the show anyway.

The next guest casting may well be Susan Sullivan or Molly. Or even Tamala. Or even Dana Delaney . . . ., Jennifer Beals (spy Sophia Turner of Lynchpin and Pandora). Or the actress who played Meredith.

It would be interesting to see if that actress was Darby Stanchfield. She has played Nathan's wife twice before... Waitress and Castle.

Thank you for the info re Darby Stanfield playing the wife before. I didnt know that. All I knew was that Dana Delaney played the older wife in Desperate Housewives. So theyve both played the wife twice. Most interesting. Ive also never heard of Waitress. Not all US shows we get, or stay long.
