Or just desperate for more ratings points. The next guest casting may well be Susan Sullivan or Molly. Or even Tamala. Or even Dana Delaney . . . ., Jennifer Beals (spy Sophia Turner of Lynchpin and Pandora). Or the actress who played Meredith. At some point, I expect John Nolan's wife to be on the show. It would be interesting to see if that actress was Darby Stanchfield. She has played Nathan's wife twice before... Waitress and Castle. Perhaps Stana will do a cameo guest spot?

Perhaps Stana will do a cameo guest spot? It’s never going to happen but if we live in an alternate universe where things were fine between them, I would have liked to see her play a cop who trains him and teaches him. It would have been fun to see him call her “maa’m”. I think stana is too young to play the mom of a man who is in his early 20’s.

Thank you for the info re Darby Stanfield playing the wife before. I didnt know that. All I knew was that Dana Delaney played the older wife in Desperate Housewives. So theyve both played the wife twice. Most interesting. Ive also never heard of Waitress. Not all US shows we get, or stay long. Waitress is a 2007 theaterical movie starring Nathan and Keri Russell. This sounds like an oxymoron but it is a sweet movie about adultery and spousal abuse but ultimately redemption and reward. It was made into a Broadway musical several years ago.

I guess they were hurt going against NCIS:LA rather than Madam Secretary (since football on CBS ran 41 minutes over). I wouldn't be surprised if they go back up again next week, at least in total viewers, but that is still pretty bad. Don't see how the show gets a third year, and I wonder if it will get to finish year 2.

The news I read today is that the Rookie and Stumptown are getting the green light for episodes for this spring, making the Rookie a show with a full 2 seasons. I have watched episodes off and on. It seems they are making the show more of an ensemble driven show instead of the life of NF's character. As some have said of last year and even this year, the other characters that are surrounding NF's Nolan character are more interesting. And the new characters (the doctor, detective, and Nolan's TO) have just seemed to be thrown in the mix. They are interesting, but again, most of the interest is off of Nolan. Too many moving parts.

I dont know what to make of this. Cant tell if its a other slap in the face to Stana or not. Re ep Disciple, and especially Resurrection/Reckoning in which the deranged doctor went after Kate in Castle. As already said, wonder how long till Darby Stanfield is a guest, or Dana Delaney, Miss Molly, Susan Sullivan, or the actresses from the fly show. Stana wouldnt guest, but for this show to keep guesting Castle actors just for higher ratings, is unfair and still still smacking of desperation.

Yess...desperation of actors who can't snag good roles for themselves. I guess this is how HW works. My friend needs a job, even though they are not good actors, so their bosses give in to the star of their shows. Again, if The Rookie doesn't figure out what it wants to be (a show about Nolan or an ensemble show) I don't think it will be possible to get a 3rd season. They should just call it The Rookies. For us more mature people on this board, that was an American show from the 70s. Dito about this being a slap in Stana's face. But I think she will survive.

I do think and believe that Jon Huertas is a far better actor than Seamus Dever is. Look at how well he is going on This Is Us. I do watch it. Not just for him, but I like the concept of the show too. Re the 70's show The Rookies, I do remember that show!! (yes showing my age), and I had a huge crush at the time on Michael Ontken??? (whatever his surname was). Ive always had a thing about cop shows. . . . . I also remember that the female in it also later starred in the original Charlies Angels show. Re Stana, yes, quite sure that she will survive.

blowkisses Why are all the characters around Fillion's Nolan characters more exciting. I just streamed last two episodes. I figured they would get rid of homeland security girlfriend so Nolan can start seeing the doctor. It was just done too quickly. Three episodes ago, Nolan thought she was too callous about life. When the pregnancy scare came about, all of a sudden she is all soft and wants kids. Of course, he doesn't so she dumps him.
I like his new TO. She is more interesting. So are Chen and Bishop. I like Bishop a lot.

The show resumes here on Monday night. The return is the start of Season 2. Ive also discovered something else I didnt notice before; Not impressed with the broadcasting time; it starts at 8.40 and goes for 2 hours. (No Im not not watching it). My next bone of contention is that with Absentia season 1 and 2, its start time was variously 10.30, 11, 11.30.
So the following ep time will be interesting too. Probably be 8.40.

Just advising that the rookie returned to sydney tonight and no, I didnt watch it and dont intend to. It was also on earlier than Absentia ever was. Not impressed one bit. I will though check on ratings.
